American pop star Katy Perry will perform during the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League on April 3, the organisers announced today. The IPL Opening Nite will be held at the YMCA Grounds in Chennai a day before the start of the T20 cricket league. Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra are set to be a part of the Indian Premier League’s opening ceremony to be held at YMCA College of Physical Education on April 3. Apart from Bollywood stars, the ‘Opening Nite’ will also feature performance from a leading international artist katy Perry, an IPL release stated.

Besides, Prabhu Deva will rock the event with his self choreographed act. Colonial Cousins (a band formed by Hariharan and Leslie Lewis and Ravi Drums) will also entertain the audiences with their performance. Several other national and international bands are expected to perform at the event. Commencing with Chennai Super Kings, the defending champions, against Mumbai Indians. The first match will be held at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Nazmul set the course for Bangladesh as he claimed the wickets of openers Mahela Jayawardene (5), Tillakaratne Dilshan (19), and Kumar Sangakkara (6), who came in at No 3, reducing Sri Lanka to 3-32. Kapugedera and Thirimanne stopped the slide with a stand of 88 before Thirimanne was stumped in the 32nd over. Kapugedera was Abdur Razzak’s second wicket in the 40th over at 169-5. Tharanga pushed the run rate to better than expected with 48 off 44 balls, including a six and five boundaries, before he was caught behind off Shahadat Hossain in the 46th. Bangladesh made one change to their XI, bringing in Nazmul for Shafiul Islam, who injured a shoulder in the previous game against India. Sri Lanka made two changes from last week’s game against India, resting Dinesh Chandimal and Seekkuge Prasanna to include Senanayake and Kapugedara.

The team that I would recommend is Kamran akmal (im no fan of his wicket keeping), Ahmed shahzad, Asad shafiq, Umar akmal (wk), Misbah ul haq/Younis khan, Hammad azam, Abdul razzaq, Shahid afridi (c), Saeed ajmal, Umar gul (if hes in rhythm lol), Wahab riaz (bowl over wicket to left handers and around wicket to right handers).Rameez raja, Imran nazir (sent down the order as a hitter), Mohammad talha, mohammad hafeez (even though hes rubbish), these would be the subs.
