American pop star Katy Perry will perform during the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League on April 3, the organisers announced today. The IPL Opening Nite will be held at the YMCA Grounds in Chennai a day before the start of the T20 cricket league. Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra are set to be a part of the Indian Premier League’s opening ceremony to be held at YMCA College of Physical Education on April 3. Apart from Bollywood stars, the ‘Opening Nite’ will also feature performance from a leading international artist katy Perry, an IPL release stated.
Besides, Prabhu Deva will rock the event with his self choreographed act. Colonial Cousins (a band formed by Hariharan and Leslie Lewis and Ravi Drums) will also entertain the audiences with their performance. Several other national and international bands are expected to perform at the event. Commencing with Chennai Super Kings, the defending champions, against Mumbai Indians. The first match will be held at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
